Supports young adult cancer survivors 21-39 years of age in the U.S. after cancer as they recover from the financial impact of cancer treatment. Average grant is typically in the $1,500-$2,000 range. Two-step process:
Step 1 - requires answering questions about cancer experience, current financial situation and grant requests. There are a few short essay questions as well. (time consuming and must disclose significant personal information). Doctors must verify cancer survivorship status.
Step 2 - typically 60% of Part 1 applicants are invited to submit part 2, and approximately 50% of Part 2 applicants are selected for funding. The online, two-part application is available twice a year: in Jan. and June and only stays open 4-6 weeks. (Important not to miss that window, as application is not on a rolling basis)

United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is a nationwide organization, with National Headquarters in Huntington, NY, that provides financial assistance offering several programs including: Individual grant: For women in active treatment or within 3 years of remission, grant covers living expenses including rent, utilities, car payments, etc.
- Holistic grant: For women in active treatment or survivors up to 10 years out, grant covers holistic treatment(s) including nutritional counseling, energy healing, wigs, prostheses, etc.
- Child sponsorship grant: For women in active treatment or up to 3 years in remission, grant covers costs that are specifically for children, including child care, clothing, child’s medical bills, etc. Applicants may apply to more than one grant. Note that each grant application requires submission of date and nature of diagnosis along with income verification as proof of eligibility. There is a $25 application fee per grant that will be paid back through the grant. If the applicant is not able to pay the fee, contact the foundation directly to explain the situation.

Licensed oncology social workers provide free individual and support group counseling to anyone affected by cancer residing in New York or New Jersey. Counseling is available in English and Spanish and centers on the emotional and practical challenges that arise from cancer. Oncology social workers provide short-term, strengths-based emotional support and may also assist in locating practical assistance, including community resources. Counseling is offered in-person, via video-conferencing online or on the telephone.

Pink Aid /Support Connection Hotline
Pink Aid, in partnership with Support Connection, offers a breast cancer hotline manned by professional peer counselors, all of whom are breast cancer survivors. The hotline is available to anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, at any stage in his or her journey from diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond. The Hotline offers two critical kinds of support to breast cancer patients and survivors: ongoing emotional support and navigational support to help breast cancer patients and survivors find resources.
