The Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer began in 1997 from the efforts of a small group of women that shared a concern about the high incidence of breast cancer on Long Island. These women set about creating an organization dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research, education and support programs. In 1998, MWCABC was incorporated and recognized by the IRS as a not-for-profit corporation.
Over the past 19 years, our all-volunteer organization has donated almost $4 million toward innovative breast cancer research at a wide variety of laboratories and treatment facilities.
The Junior Coalition of MWCABC was formed in 2003 to increase awareness among teens about breast cancer, as well as to enable these teens to raise funds for breast cancer research and patient support programs.
In 2004, we established our Outreach Program through which we provide support services to those with breast cancer and related diseases and offer educational programs on breast cancer and its prevention.
